01

Strategize.

We understand that furniture, when done well, can be a huge competitive advantage for an organization. We want to get to know you and your space – no detail goes unnoticed. We’ll visit the site, take measurements, and discuss your vision at length.

02

Customize.

From here, we get to work. We partner with over one hundred manufacturers that scale all budget needs. By offering space planning, 3D renderings and detailed floor plans, we guide you through the selection process to create the aesthetic you desire.

03

Put in place.

We love to see it all come together. Our project managers travel throughout the US (and beyond) to ensure delivery & installation goes smoothly. We’re not afraid to roll up our sleeves and rearrange rooms – we’ve done it before, and we’ll do it again.

About SML

We know furniture - from small, medium to large.

People often talk about the power of a commercial space—the places where we meet, the places where we work, the places where we learn. We couldn’t agree more. SML, previously known as Specialized Marketing Ltd, was founded in the 1980’s. With 40+ years of experience as a certified woman-owned business, we’ve seen the industry transform and evolve, manufacturers come and go – what stays the same, is our passion to create something new. Something functional. Something fun. Our team believes a space should give people a reason to enter, and a reason to remain.

Norden Shipping

Norden Shipping is an innovator in the industry of global trade, and their space reflects their Denmark roots. Furniture selection played a crucial role in bringing the design vision to life. Scandinavian-inspired pieces with sleek silhouettes and organic forms were carefully curated to maximize both comfort and functionality. Ergonomic chairs and adjustable desks promoted well-being and productivity, while the café and lounge encouraged collaboration and interaction among employees. Manufacturers include Andreu World, Tuohy, KFI Studios, and Humanscale. Architect: Bignell Watkins Hasser Architects

George Washington University | Duques Hall

The common area in Duques Hall has been meticulously designed to serve as a multifunctional hub for students. This space is not just a place to study or meet between classes; it's an arena where events can unfold, creating a dynamic environment that fosters engagement and learning. The design philosophy was centered around creating a functional yet stylish space. Instead of opting for a purely lounge-like ambiance, the focus was placed on incorporating more upright chairs to maximize usability. This transformation was carried out within a span of less than six months, showcasing a blend of efficiency and aesthetic appeal. The project involved collaboration with reputed manufacturers such as Arcadia, Bernhardt Design, ERG International, Keilhauer, OFS, and VIA Seating. Architect: SmithGroup.

George Washington University | Student Center

The Student Center is the heart of George Washington University's Foggy Bottom campus. With ample seating options from Bernhardt Design to VIA Seating, students can hang out with friends, grab a bite to eat, study with classmates, and more. The space was designed to become a multi-functional center for students and guests. This renovation took place alongside the Duques Hall project in the span of less than six months. Manufacturers include Allermuir, Encore, ERG International, Grand Rapids Chair, Keilhauer, Leland, and OFS. Architect: Ayers Saint Gross.
